Privacy Policy — LifeVault AI
Effective date: July 9, 2026
The short version: LifeVault AI is a local-first app. Your inventory, receipts, documents, vehicles, subscriptions and reminders are stored only on your own device. We operate no servers for your data, require no account, and collect nothing.
1. Data storage
All app data lives in a private database on your device. It is never transmitted to the developer and we have no ability to access it. Deleting the app (or using Settings → Erase all data) permanently removes it.
2. Encryption
If you set a vault passcode, document files you store are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM. The encryption key is derived from your passcode and exists only in your device's memory while the vault is unlocked. It is never stored or transmitted. If you forget your passcode, encrypted documents cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
3. Optional AI features
When AI features (receipt scanning, item identification, the assistant) are available and you actively use them, the specific photo or data snapshot you submit is sent to an AI provider (Anthropic's Claude API) solely to produce the result you requested. Under Anthropic's API terms, this data is not used to train AI models. The developer does not receive, log or store any of it. If AI features are disabled or offline, nothing is ever transmitted.
Where AI requests are routed through a service endpoint operated by the developer, they travel over an encrypted connection (TLS) and are processed transiently: the photo or data snapshot is handled in memory only for as long as it takes to produce your result, and its content is never logged or stored on the server. Depending on configuration, the processing itself happens on the developer's own hardware or via Anthropic's Claude API under the same no-training terms above. The only records the service keeps are per-access-token usage counts (how many requests were made and when), used for rate limiting and abuse prevention — never the content of your requests.
4. Backups
Backup files you export are created locally and remain entirely under your control. Treat backups that include encrypted files carefully — they contain the material needed to attempt passcode guessing offline.
5. What we don't do
- No analytics, telemetry or crash reporting
- No advertising or ad SDKs
- No selling, sharing or transferring of data — we never possess it
- No accounts, emails or identifiers required
6. Permissions
Camera/photos are used only when you choose to attach an image. Biometric hardware is used only to unlock the app on your device. The app requests no location access.
7. Children
LifeVault AI is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed at children under 13.
